Next week, the Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) will answer consumer questions about the government’s Home Affordable Refinance Program (HARP) during a Google Plus Hangout hosted by real estate portal Zillow Inc.

Homeowners are invited to submit questions via a special tab on Zilow’s Facebook page or through Twitter using the hashtag #HARPrefi.

Meg Burns, senior associate director for the office of housing and regulatory policy for the FHFA, will answer questions, and Erin Lantz, Zillow’s director of mortgages, will moderate the event, which will take place on Thurs., Oct. 3 at 2:30 p.m. Eastern time.

“Even though HARP has been around for four years, estimates show that many more homeowners still stand to benefit from the program,” Lantz said in a statement. “We’re thrilled to have the opportunity to connect these homeowners directly with the people who can answer their questions about this refinancing program.”
