SAN FRANCISCO — Do you ever feel like you’re just not ready to hit the record button — ever?

A lot of real estate agents are afraid of shooting video because they simply don’t want to put out a poor final product.

Laura Monroe and Jeff Lobb have the top five tools for you to make crazy good video and a few extra tips for good measure. They outlined them at Agent Connect, part of Tuesday’s Inman Connect programming.

Here are the top five tools you can use to create awe-inspiring real estate video:

1. Promo by Slidely

With Promo, you get quality video clips, licensed music and a built-in text editor so that you can easily create gorgeous video.

2. Videorama

With Videorama, you can overlay and animate text, add music and sound effects, apply Hollywood style visual effects and more.

3. Mevo by Livestream

With the Mevo camera, you can shoot your video and edit your shots in real time right on your phone or tablet. Mevo also has an intuitive autopilot editing mode that can take the reigns.

4. Ripl

Using Ripl you can “Create eye-catching animated videos and share them on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram with one tap,” according to its website.

5. Animoto

With Animoto you get a marketing video builder, a slideshow video builder and a mobile app all in one. You’ll have the ability to use 2,000+ licensed songs, make square video, use pre-built storyboards, record voice-over segments, customize text and create collages and layouts.

Lobb gave his top three tips for using Animoto in marketing:

  1. On a prelisting appointment, take a few pictures and create a 30-second slide show to demonstrate your marketing abilities.
  2. Download a video you’ve created onto your tablet, and show it to prospects as an example of the marketing you can do for them.
  3. This one’s for your buyers. Take pictures of them in their new home, and put your info on the third or fourth slide. Then share with your buyers on social. They’ll share it with their sphere. And double-bonus, when it pops up two years later as a Facebook past event, they’ll likely share it again.

If you still feel completely overwhelmed, one of the best ways to get over the fear-of-editing problem is to hire an intern.

Monroe shared with the audience that her pre-college daughter worked for an agent we know who does video fearlessly. Check out one of Rachel Adams’s videos to see how easy and flawless it can be done.
