NRT LLC, the Realogy subsidiary that operates the real estate giant’s company-owned brokerages, has named Charles El-Moussa as Coldwell Banker Texas’ first-ever president.

As president, El-Moussa will be in charge of the daily operations and sales of NRT’s Coldwell Banker-branded companies in the Lone Star State, including Coldwell Banker United, Realtors in Houston and Austin and Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

Altogether, Coldwell Banker has 42 offices and more than 2,200 affiliated sales professionals in Texas, who represented $5.147 billion in sales volume and 17,042 total transactions in 2017, the company said.

“I am excited to join NRT and represent Coldwell Banker, a brand widely respected across the entire real estate industry and by consumers,” El-Moussa said in a press release.

“I look forward to leveraging my experience to help NRT grow offices and market share in Texas, in addition to assisting and inspiring our real estate professionals [to] excel in achieving their business goals and aspirations.”

Before coming to Coldwell Banker, El-Moussa served as COO and general counsel for Re/Max of Texas; co-founded two real estate technology companies, imageindxr and FIPYSocial; consulted for companies in the real estate and health industries as well as mineral mining exploration company First American Silver Corp. (now Century Cobalt Corp.); and is a licensed real estate broker.

These experiences made El-Moussa the perfect candidate, said Kate Rossi, regional executive vice president of NRT’s Eastern Region.

“Charles was selected for many of his strong leadership traits, including his extensive leadership experience in the real estate industry and knowledge of technology platforms,” Rossi told Inman. “His passion for his work, his colleagues and for the sales agents certainly set him apart.”

Beyond taking care of daily operations and sales, Rossi and NRT CEO Ryan Gorman said El-Moussa will focus on increasing agent productivity and recruitment.

“Charles will play a pivotal role as we accelerate growth and continue to build our strategic positioning in this marketplace,” said NRT CEO Ryan Gorman in a statement. “He is highly focused, and has the experience and passion to help us leverage our strength, drive bottom line growth through revenue acceleration, recruitment, and increased production.”

“I am confident he will succeed,” he added.

This is the first completed hire from Realogy’s leadership expansion plans. In June, Realogy and NRT CEOs Ryan Schneider and Ryan Gorman unveiled plans to expand the company’s leadership team by adding five, new C-Suite positions at NRT, Realogy Franchise Group, Title Resource Group, Coldwell Banker Texas, Coldwell Banker Carolinas and parent company Realogy Holdings Corp.
