TRIBUS is the first brokerage platform vendor to send agent-sold data to Zillow automatically — immediately after a property sale closes.

In a move that could significantly reduce manual data entry, real estate technology vendor TRIBUS on Thursday announced it will automatically send updated sales data through its brokerage platform to Zillow following a closing.

TRIBUS – which boasts a portfolio of clients that includes RE/MAX Results, Zephyr Real Estate and Climb Real Estate – provides brokerages with custom platforms, brokerage websites, company intranet and other tech products.

The new partnership will allow agents to bypass hours of manually entering home sales data into Zillow, executives said in a statement.

“We’re excited to work with TRIBUS on behalf of our mutual broker partners to automate the publishing of a broker’s sold data to Zillow Group sites,” Sara Bonert, Zillow’s vice president of broker services, said in a statement. “This means their data will get to our sites faster and more accurately, eliminating the need for public records and manual data entry.”

The move could help agents who display past and recent sales draw new prospective clients, as agents rise on Zillow’s site with the number of homes sold.

“This also helps buyers’ agents get marketing exposure for their participation in a deal – something not typically available through public record sources,” Bonert added.

Prior to the integration, agents manually matched sold listings on Zillow in order for this information to show up on their Zillow profiles. The process was either done one-by-one or through emailing a CSV file. Now Zillow can do all the work through its connection to TRIBUS’ application programming interface and it can be immediately after the deal is closed.

For brokerages with a large roster of agents, it requires a lot of oversight to ensure the correct information is plugged in each time a deal is closed, but that will no longer be a worry.

“At TRIBUS, we are always looking for ways we can use data to improve agents’ productivity in their day-to-day lives,” Katie Ragusa, TRIBUS’ vice president of product said. “Not only does this new connection with Zillow improve upon our existing integration, it charts a new path for unifying brokerage operations while taking advantage of all-important marketing opportunities on Zillow.”
