Real estate is haunted by an epidemic. It’s contagious and sticky, and it has negative side effects. It’s spreading like wildfire and threatens to haunt us all over the country.
It’s called half measures.
Real estate agents dip their toes in the water of change, technology and new endeavors. Agents try their hand at something for a few months, and if the needle doesn’t move, they bail — that’s a half measure.
To be successful at anything at all, you need consistency. You have to be all in. As we tie 2019 with a bow and begin to unwrap 2020, it’s a good time to evaluate the year’s endeavors. Did you give it your all?
Whatever it is, you’re excited about for next year, whether it’s owning your branding (I hope that’s on the list), getting more authentic with your prospecting or just getting consistent with your social media content — jump in with all that you have. And don’t stop. Give it an entire year.
You probably won’t be very good at first, which should be comforting because that means you don’t have to worry about or fear failure. You will fail.
You can’t think your way into right acting. You have to act your way into right thinking. So, don’t worry about how you feel about all of it, and don’t give the fear any stage time in your brain.
Just keep moving in consistent and constant action, all with a positive attitude. If you want to protect yourself from this horrible epidemic of half measures, start by giving this podcast a listen.
