The growth manager helps drive the growth of Inman’s revenue generating properties, including events, subscriptions, and website traffic. The growth manager is responsible for the planning, execution and success of programs that increase revenue and reach.

Events

  • Gross ticket revenue for each event
  • Event attendance numbers
  • Average revenue per attendee
  • Growth rate of revenue and attendance year over year

Subscription

  • Subscriber revenue
  • Monthly recurring revenue
  • Subscriber churn
  • Average Revenue Per User
  • Lifetime value of subscriber
  • Subscriber utilization
  • Group membership utilization
  • Monthly & Weekly Active User rates

Traffic

  • Web traffic growth via key traffic channels

Position’s Key Responsibilities

  • Design new member acquisition growth plan and work with VP, Growth to implement programs including, but not limited to:
    • New member acquisition across all marketing channels
    • Promotional calendar for acquisition drives:
      • Content related promotions (e.g. Essential Guide marketing)
      • Event promotions (e.g. Inman Connect NY, Livestream)
      • Other incentives (e.g. End of Month, Holiday, User-get-user, etc.)
  • Lead Conversion of free users to paid users
  • Manage and improve lifetime value and retention rates of subscribers
  • Set weekly growth experiment targets for team and manage execution
    • Manage experiments across acquisition, activation, retention and referral
  • Design experiments and channel discovery/optimization to grow website traffic
  • Design and execute event marketing and promotional campaigns to drive awareness, attendance and revenue:
    • Systematize testing and execution of promotional/countdown calendars
    • Drive the overall growth and retention of the event marketing email list
    • Design a program to drive retention of event attendees
    • Promoting group discounts and encouraging awareness and attendance among brokerages and associations.
    • Developing new media, affiliate and promotional partners to extend reach and attendance/revenue growth
    • Creating social media and online advertising campaigns to drive awareness and sales
  • Work with social media manager to align organic efforts with paid promotions
  • Measure growth of all aspects of the program and report to leadership on a weekly basis

Job Requirements

  • 2+ years experience in marketing/growth for online properties. Media/publishing/content and subscription model experience a plus
  • Experience running a systematic growth and experimentation process based on data
  • Ability to write clearly and effectively articulate positions, beliefs and approaches
  • Significant experience with analytics, statistical testing and conversion optimization
  • Ability to balance an intense attention to detail with swift execution
  • Working knowledge of HTML / CSS / SQL
  • Strong understanding of growth best practices
  • Experience with both campaign-driven and behavioral email
  • A self-starting attitude
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

Organizational Structure

  • Position reports into VP, Growth
  • Works collaboratively with social media manager, data, events, sales and technology teams
