Ivy Zelman

Ivy Zelman is Chief Executive Officer of Zelman & Associates holding roughly 30 years of experience covering housing and housing-related industries. In 2007, Ivy co-founded Zelman & Associates. The firm provides analyses across all aspects of the housing spectrum. Ivy’s concept for the firm remains strongly rooted in the ability to perform thematic research overlaid with proprietary surveys to produce unparalleled differentiated value-added research.

Ivy has been widely known and respected for her bold thinking and accurate assessments where others failed, helping industry players avoid costly mistakes and capture game-changing opportunities. In 2005, she called the top of the housing market. Ivy famously asked Toll Brothers CEO Bob Toll on the Q4 2006 Toll Brothers conference call “Which Kool-Aid Are You Drinking?”

From there Ivy called the bottom of the housing market in January 2012, thus reinforcing her dominant reputation within the industry. She helped best-selling writer, Michael Lewis with research related to the mortgage crash. This became a part of his best-selling book turned movie, Liar’s Poker. Michael wrote in the book “all roads led to Ivy.”

Her convictions have been recognized by Institutional Investor ranking her as one of the most preeminent figures within the housing industry. Most notably, Institutional Investors - America Research Team rankings placed Ivy and her team with eleven 1st place rankings (1999 – 2004, 2006 – 2007 and 2010 – 2013). Additionally, Hanley Wood, a leading real estate media firm, ranked Ivy as 14th of the Top 50 most influential persons in housing. In 2020, Ivy was included in Barron's Top 100 Women in U.S. Finance.

As one of the most powerful women on Wall Street, Ivy Zelman is a sought-after expert on the housing sector, and what the overall housing market means for investors, homebuilders, industry executives and the economy at large. She frequently appears on television shows such as CNBC, in major publications including The Wall Street Journal, and has acted as a key witness in a congressional hearing.

Jim Cramer, host of the CNBC’s show Mad Money, said “Ivy is the Ax of the homebuilders – the analyst who understands the group better than anyone else on Wall Street.”

Tom Willerer

Prior to Coursera, he served as Vice President of Product at Netflix, where he led product teams and helped expand the company’s subscribership from 8 million U.S.-only users to over 40 million globally.

Skylar Olsen

Dr. Skylar Olsen is Principal Economist at Climate Check, a company dedicated to providing easy to understand and detailed information about Climate Change induced risk impacting properties, lifestyles, markets, and communities.  Dr. Olsen also founded Reimagine Economics, a consultancy specializing in environmental economic analysis and climate change communication.

Dr. Olsen’s research contributions span many areas of economics including real estate markets, the importance of place in economic outcomes, socio-economic divides, and the impacts of climate change on communities. An acclaimed public speaker and established public expert, Dr. Olsen has regularly appeared on stage, in print and on local and national broadcast and radio stations across the country. In April 2019, Dr. Olsen had the honor of testifying before Congress’ Housing Financial Services Committee on fair housing issues.

Previously Senior Principal Economist and Director of Economic Research at Zillow, Dr. Olsen was a foundational member of the public facing economic research program at Zillow Group and directed many of Zillow’s data sharing initiatives over her 8 years of service.

She holds a PhD in economics with a specialization in econometrics and environmental economics from the University of Washington where she received an award for teaching excellence. A firm believer in the importance of place in our understanding of the current political and social climate, Dr. Olsen has called Seattle, the Bay Area and Central Coast of California, Columbus OH, Washington, DC and the hills of West Virginia home.

Sean is the Co-Founder & CEO of Knock, which is making it as easy to trade-in your home as it is to trade-in your car. Sean was also part of the founding team at Trulia where he was involved in the strategy, growth, and revenue from inception. Trulia went public on the New York Stock Exchange in 2012 (NYSE: TRLA) and was acquired by Zillow in 2014 for $3.5B. Sean is an investor in other tech companies that bring radical transparency, convenience, and savings to consumers, including NerdWallet, SeatGeek, Paintzen, Zeel, Peach, Smith (acquired by Porch.com) and NFX Guild. 

Katie Lance

David Friedman

Julie Faupel is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of REALM, an innovative global networking membership for real estate professionals launching in October 2019.

Concurrently, Faupel is a co-founder and co-owner of Jackson Hole Real Estate Associates, the largest Real Estate Company in the Teton Region and the 2011 and 2014 recipient of the Christie's International Real Estate Global Affiliate of the Year award.

Faupel is also a Partner in Graham-Faupel-Mendenhall & Associates, the Teton region's most successful real estate team, historically rated by the Wall Street Journal and REALTrends as one of the top 250 real estate teams in the U.S.

Faupel is a current member of the Young Presidents Organization and has served on the Executive Committee of the Jackson Hole Community Foundation, and as Chairman for the Jackson Hole Chamber of Commerce.

David Doctorow

David Doctorow became Chief Executive Officer of Move, Inc., operator of realtor.com®, in February 2020.

 

Doctorow has held senior executive roles at some of the world’s leading digital commerce businesses. He joined Move from eBay, the global e-commerce business where he served as Head of Global Growth, eBay Marketplaces, since 2016. Under Doctorow’s leadership, the company implemented a number of significant marketing tech and workforce advancements that resulted in major increases in revenue, traffic, and active buyers.

 

Before joining eBay, Doctorow spent nearly five years as Chief Marketing and Strategy Officer at Expedia, the leading travel technology company, where he helped to guide the overall turnaround of the business and an industry consolidation that included Orbitz, Travelocity, and a number of international brands. Earlier in his career, Doctorow held marketing roles with McKinsey and Hewlett-Packard.

 

A respected marketing executive, he was named one of Top 50 CMOs to Watch by Boardroom Insiders and a Forbes Top 50 Most Influential CMO.

 

Doctorow holds a bachelor’s degree in International Relations from the University of Pennsylvania, and an MBA from Stanford University Graduate School of Business.
