Vanessa is a negotiation specialist. In fact, she is certified in conflict resolution, which tends to come in handy in real estate transactions these days! She holds a California real estate license and a Bachelor’s degree from Penn State.
She fell in love with real estate when she bought her first house and decided to become an agent at a large real estate firm here in the East Bay. She became hooked on the fact that each new client, and each new property, presented a different experience.
Vanessa soon moved up the ranks to management, successfully running an office of agents and gaining connections within a corporate structure based far, far away from the East Bay.
She didn’t get hooked on that.
So in 2007, when one of Red Oak’s owners called with an offer to run their intensely local company, she was in. She and her business partner took an ownership stake in the business and the rest, really, is about what got her hooked on real estate in the first place: properties and people in the East Bay.
Vanessa resides in Oakland’s Upper Rockridge neighborhood with her husband and two young children.

Ryan Gorman was named President and Chief Executive Officer of NRT in 2018. In this capacity, he is responsible for the day-to-day operations of NRT’s company-owned brokerage operations doing business under the Coldwell Banker® brand.
Gorman most recently served as Chief Strategy and Operating Officer of NRT and as its Senior Vice President, Strategic Operations where he brought a heightened focus on service delivery, defined a comprehensive integrated growth strategy and leveraged the resources of NRT and Realogy to drive a superior experience for affiliated agents, employees and customers.
Since joining NRT, Gorman has worked with the leadership team to craft and refine new strategic and operating plans throughout the company, in addition to launching NRT’s property management business. During his Realogy career, Gorman led the company’s strategic acquisition of ZipRealty as well as Title Resource Group’s acquisition of the title insurance agency and title insurance underwriting operations of Texas American Title Company and Cartus’ acquisition of Primacy Relocation.
Prior to joining NRT in May 2012, Gorman was the Corporate Senior Vice President and Head of Strategic Development for Realogy Corporation, NRT’s parent company. In that role, he oversaw strategic development and merger and acquisition activities for Realogy and its four business units. Gorman was the driving force behind TRG’s acquisition of Texas American Title Company, Cartus’ acquisition of Primacy Relocation and NRT’s acquisition of Coldwell BankerPreferred in Philadelphia. He also contributed significant strategy work for Realogy’s world-renowned brands and franchisees.
Before joining Realogy in 2004, Gorman held advisory and principal investment roles with PricewaterhouseCoopers (Transaction Services, Philadelphia, Pa.), Credit Suisse (CS First Boston’s Technology Investment Banking Group, Palo Alto, Calif.), and The Blackstone Group (Blackstone Debt Advisors, New York City). He graduated with honors from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

Hoby Wedler has been blind since birth. Dr. Wedler earned a Ph.D. in chemistry at UC Davis and he recently co-founded Senspoint Design, a sensory advising and education company. Justin Vallandingham is the other co-founder of Senspoint Design and currently serves as Senspoint’s COO. Rich grew up building homes with his Dad and brother in a small town in upstate South Carolina. Later in his career, he worked as construction manager for KB Home then went on to start his own custom home building company in Charleston, SC. After the crash in 2008, Rich worked in the development world and eventually made his way to Washington, DC where he earned his MBA at Johns Hopkins Carey Business School all while working a full-time job in design/build and starting his first startup, HomeTrackr.

During her tenure at UtahRealEstate.com MLS (URE), Rebecca led the effort to develop, and successfully deploy a new in-house MLS platform, including an integrated public facing website and mobile apps. URE grew to provide service for over 90% of Utah's Realtors due to the MLS consolidation efforts she led.
Rebecca also diversified the MLS's offering by expanding services to property managers. This enabled her to create the Property Pond Rentals Platform, which included a consumer facing website for rental properties and mobile apps.
Rebecca was elected to the Board of The Real Estate Standards Organization (RESO) in the fall of 2010. She became the Board Chair in January 2011 where she served in that capacity until 2015. During her time as Chair, she was able to develop and implement a sustainable long-term strategic plan, which included restructuring the entity to gain more support from the industry. This resulted in RESO successfully creating the first real estate data dictionary, web API standard, and compliance programs. Prior to joining Warburg, Clelia spent several years serving as an advisor to FTSE 100 companies and UK government bodies with the Boston Consulting Group and worked in partnership with noted businesswoman Sallie Krawcheck to develop an early stage technology company focused on flexible work opportunities for women.
Clelia began her career as a humanitarian relief worker with the International Rescue Committee where she served as an advisor to the Security Council and managed field based projects in Nepal and the Democratic Republic of Congo. Her work overseas sparked a passion for economics and business building, leading her to pursue an MBA. During her MBA Clelia worked with a mid-size private equity fund, assessing investments across the consumer, healthcare and banking spaces.
A passionate native New Yorker, Clelia serves as the President of the Board for the Gerard and Kelly Foundation, a non-profit supporting the work of performance artists Gerard and Kelly, as well as other performance-based artists. Clelia is deeply interested in supporting other female business leaders and serves as an advisor for several early stage, women-led, companies. Clelia holds an MBA from Columbia Business School and a BA in Literature with distinction from Yale University, and is a graduate of The Chapin School.

Nate graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Science, Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering and has received numerous accolades for his talents and contributions. Lauren Nemeth is the Chief Revenue Officer at Nextdoor, the free and private social network for neighborhoods. Nemeth joined Nextdoor from Amobee, a leading global digital marketing technology company, where she served served as Chief Revenue Officer. Prior to that, Nemeth held the same role at Turn following her tenure as Chief Operating Officer at URX, the predictive mobile search engine, acquired by Pinterest in 2016. Nemeth graduated from the University of California at Los Angeles.

(now part of Sprinklr), VP of Social Media at online community provider, Mzinga, and as Director of Digital Marketing at Fidelity Investments.
Aaron is the coauthor of Location Based Marketing for Dummies (Wiley) and writes a monthly mobile/location-based marketing column on Marketingland.com. He is also the host of the What2Know podcast (iTunes) which features industry leaders talking about innovation and best practices.
Aaron sits on the advisory boards of PRNews and PRSA Sillicon Valley. He lives with his wife and three children in Lafayette, CA.
Matt Kursh, CEO and co-founder of Oji Life Lab, has a 30 year career spanning high tech, personal performance learning, and non-profits. Most notably, he has started and sold companies to Apple and Microsoft; ran Microsoft’s primary web business, msn.com; and served as CEO of the Blue Planet Run, a running relay that circled the globe over 95 days to raise awareness of the global water crisis. Matt started his career as president and co-founder of Clearview Software, which he sold to Apple Computer. Matt then co-founded and was CEO of eShop Corporation, one of the first companies to offer platforms and services for online shopping. eShop was acquired by Microsoft, where Matt served as General Manager for msn.com(including Search, shopping, advertising, and content), as well as Sidewalk and Home Advisor. Past learning ventures have included a teen soft-skills learning center and creation of programs on essential topics including decision-making, personality, and purpose and values.
Vernand is the founder of PrestoIntelligence, the first technology-enabled home inspection platform that leverages cutting edge technology (AI) to enhance the consumer experience and increase inspector quantitative and qualitative inspections. PrestoIntelligence streamlines the inspection process and allows consumers to order a home inspection with a single text message and have an inspector in their area select and perform their job in real-time.
Vernand Morency grew up in Miami, Florida. His parents, immigrants from Haiti, had him working in their family real estate business at the early age of 5. This experience impacted him tremendously and helped shape a strong, disciplined work ethic which translated into successful careers in professional baseball, football, and real estate.
Through his professional sports career, his love for real estate never wavered. In 2006-2007, Vernand participated in a syndicate group led by T. Boone Pickens to develop the $250M “Boone Pickens Stadium” at his alma mater, Oklahoma State University. He was also an intricate part the City Center of DC, Washington, DC, $1.4 billion development project.
Vernand was twice competitively selected to participate in the prestigious Business Management & Entrepreneurship Program at the Wharton School of Business where he received his MBA. He has had the opportunity to learn from some of the greatest business minds through also participating in the Babson College Entrepreneurship program.
Today, in addition to being an accomplished professional baseball and football player, Vernand invests, owns and manages properties across the country and is involved in several different non-profit initiatives.
