Vanessa Bergmark

Vanessa is a negotiation specialist. In fact, she is certified in conflict resolution, which tends to come in handy in real estate transactions these days! She holds a California real estate license and a Bachelor’s degree from Penn State.

She fell in love with real estate when she bought her first house and decided to become an agent at a large real estate firm here in the East Bay. She became hooked on the fact that each new client, and each new property, presented a different experience.

Vanessa soon moved up the ranks to management, successfully running an office of agents and gaining connections within a corporate structure based far, far away from the East Bay.

She didn’t get hooked on that.

So in 2007, when one of Red Oak’s owners called with an offer to run their intensely local company, she was in. She and her business partner took an ownership stake in the business and the rest, really, is about what got her hooked on real estate in the first place: properties and people in the East Bay.

Vanessa resides in Oakland’s Upper Rockridge neighborhood with her husband and two young children.

Ryan Schneider

Ryan Schneider joined Realogy as President and Chief Operating Officer in October 2017 after nearly 15 years of senior leadership experience at Capital One Financial Corporation. He is a member of Realogy’s Board of Directors, and will become Realogy’s Chief Executive Officer effective December 31, 2017.
From 2007 to 2016, Schneider was President of Capital One’s Card division, its largest business, where he oversaw all of Capital One’s consumer and small business credit card lines in the United States, U.K. and Canada. He managed a staff of more than 10,000 employees and reported directly to Capital One’s Chief Executive Officer.
Schneider joined Capital One in 2002 and held a variety of leadership positions within Capital One through 2007, including Executive Vice President and President, Auto Finance, which did the majority of its business with franchised auto dealers, and Executive Vice President, U.S. Card. He also served as a director of Capital One Bank (USA), National Association.
Schneider has substantial experience in public policy and regulatory affairs, including meeting with a sitting President of the United States and testifying in front of a Senate committee.
Previously, he was a partner at McKinsey & Company, where he specialized in financial services clients with an emphasis on consumer credit and insurance. Schneider received a B.A. in Economics from Williams College and his Ph.D. in Economics from Yale University.

Robert Reffkin

Robert Reffkin is the Founder & CEO of Compass, a technology-driven real estate platform. Prior to Compass, Robert worked at Goldman Sachs as Chief of Staff to the President & COO following five years working in the firm's private equity arm. Prior to Goldman Sachs, he worked at Lazard and McKinsey & Company. In 2005, he was appointed as a White House Fellow to serve as special assistant to the Secretary of the Treasury. He was appointed by Mayor Bloomberg to serve on the NYC Workforce Investment Board and the NYC Board of Education, known as the Panel for Educational Policy. He also founded New York Needs You (the most time intensive career mentoring program in NYC) and founded Bronx Success Academy 1 elementary school. He received a B.A. and M.B.A. from Columbia University. He recently completed 50 marathons, one in each U.S. state, to raise $1 million for youth education and enrichment programs.

Joyce Rey

With more than USD 4 billion in career sales, Joyce Rey is one of the most respected names in luxury real estate worldwide. Glenn Sanford

Glenn had important roles at Internet start-ups before launching a real estate career in 2002. In his fourth year in real estate with a major national franchisor, his team closed more than $60 million in real estate by connecting with consumers online, and Glenn was a significant contributor to the franchisor’s internet lead generation program.

Glenn believed that agents and brokers do the heavy lifting in real estate and deserve benefits of being a shareholder in their company and income based on the level of their contribution. In early 2007, Glenn launched BuyerTours Realty, LLC, a combination of web and traditional bricks-and-mortar offices. During the economic downturn in 2008, Glenn had an idea for how to save overhead costs associated with owning a brick-and-mortar brokerage and give agents the opportunity to be shareholders in their company. In October 2009, eXp Realty, LLC launched as the first cloud-based, national real estate brokerage. eXp Realty’s virtual office environment compared to the traditional real estate office allows agents to collaborate and learn together, no matter where they might be located.

In 2013, Glenn took eXp Realty’s holding company, eXp World Holdings, public and in May 2018 moved the company’s listing to the Nasdaq Stock Exchange (NASDAQ: EXPI).

Scott Petronis

As eXp Realty’s Chief Product and Technology Officer, Scott leads the delivery of strategic agent-centric solutions that power the company’s business and rapidly growing agent base. Scott has more than 20 years of experience in delivering software and SaaS products for businesses and consumers. For more than six years, Scott has been a fixture in industry technology initiatives through his work with the Real Estate Standards Organization (RESO), including leading the Web API initiative as the Chair of the Transport Workgroup. In that role, he drove agreement on a new standard that allows companies to more rapidly innovate solutions for the real estate industry.

Nate Bowling

Entering his twelfth year in the classroom, Nate Bowling is veteran of the United States Air Force Reserves and a graduate of the Evergreen State College. He was a 2014 recipient of the Milken Family Foundation's National Educator Award, the 2016 Washington State Teacher of the Year, and was one of four finalists for 2016 National Teacher of the Year. Nate was also a recipient of the 2016 Joseph Albert Dear Distinguished Alumni Award from Evergreen. He blogs about teaching, matters of justice, and educational equity issues at natebowling.com and is the host of the Nerd Farmer Podcast. Nate is also a co-founder of Teachers United, a teacher-led education policy advocacy group and he currently teaches AP Human Geography and AP Government & Politics at Lincoln High School, in his hometown of Tacoma.

Katie Ragusa

Real estate is in Katie’s blood. She's a second generation REALTOR and comes to TRIBUS after working for a prominent custom home builder in metro Atlanta, GA. While selling homes, she realized she had a passion for helping agents establish a meaningful web presence and a build CRM that worked. Since then, she's become a Certified Scrum Master (CSM) and graduated from a UX program, all while staying grounded in real estate technology. Her background in the industry and her training in psychology have paved the way for her current user experience focused role, where she leads the product team at TRIBUS.

Brad Inman

Wendy Forsythe

Wendy has leveraged her passion for real estate, operations and branding to help build successful real estate networks in both Canada and the United States. She was recognized in 2017 as one of the Swanepoel Power 200 and as a 2017 Inman Real Estate Influencer. She was employee number two at Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate when Realogy relaunched the brand in 2007. She later lead the growth of a national independent brokerage from 500 agents to over 2000 agents in under 5 years and to be ranked as one of the top 50 brokerages in the country in 2016.  Prior to joining HomeSmart she served as President, T3 Broker Division at T3 Sixty Group. Sherry Chris

Sherry Chris was appointed president and CEO of Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate LLC in October of 2007.  Her appointment followed Realogy’s announcement that it had entered into a 50-year agreement with Meredith Corporation, with a renewal option for another 50 years, to license the Better Homes and Gardens® name to launch a new and dynamic global residential real estate brand.

Sherry has more than 30 years of real estate experience, including, significant senior management positions in the areas of sales, marketing, new technologies, and franchise management.  A native of Canada, she began her real estate career in Ontario and held increasingly senior positions with Royal LePage for 16 years before taking on executive roles within notable US brokerages.  She joined Realogy in 2006 as Chief Operating Officer for Coldwell Banker Real Estate LLC.

Well-known for her innovative thinking, next generation consumer insights and idea sharing in an effort to move the industry forward, Sherry is a frequently sought after speaker at international real estate and technology conferences. She is also recurrently featured by national media outlets such as FOX Business and CNBC for her insights into industry reports and trends.

Sherry serves on the advisory boards for Realtor.com and Zillow and has been part of a number of industry and technology-related advisory boards, including Trulia and Google Real Estate.  In addition, she is the vice chair of the national board of directors at the non-profit organization, Rebuilding Together and vice chair of the real estate services advisory board at NAR.

David Friedman

Joe Rand

Joseph Rand is one of the Managing Partners of Better Homes and Gardens Rand Realty and Rand Commercial Services, as well as the Managing Partner for our Hudson United home service companies: Hudson United Mortgage, Hudson Abstract Mortgage, and Hudson United Insurance Group.  As an attorney, he also acts as General Counsel for all our real estate companies.

A graduate of Georgetown University, Georgetown University Law School, and with a masters degree from Stanford Law School, Mr. Rand came to the Rand family of companies after a career as an attorney and law professor.  After law school, he clerked on the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, and then joined the prestigious international law firm of Debevoise &Plimpton in the litigation department.  Following a few years in private practice, he went on to a career in legal academia, getting a teaching fellowship at Stanford Law School and then joining the faculty at Brooklyn Law School and later Fordham Law School. He started with the Rand family of real estate companies in 2002.

As Better Homes and Gardens Rand Realty's General Counsel, Mr. Rand represents the company, its employees, and its 800 agents. His responsibilities include ensuring regulatory compliance, maintaining ethical standards, and representing the company and its agents in any legal disputes. Because of his educational background, Mr. Rand is also involved with Rand's extensive new agent and ongoing education and training programs. He has spoken at numerous national conventions on agent education and compliance issues.

David Charron

David Charron has been recognized by Inman News eleven consecutive years as one of the "Most Influential People in Real Estate." Katie Kossev

Karin Carr

Denee Evans

Denee Evans is the chief executive officer of the Council of Multiple Listing Services (CMLS), which is the largest professional organization dedicated to the multiple listing service (MLS) industry in North America. It currently consists of 234 members, including 163 MLS providers that represent about one million subscribers.

Vija Williams

Distinguishing yourself in a hot market like Seattle at one of the biggest real estate franchisors in the country is a tall order for most, but Vija Williams and her team at the Vija Group with Keller Williams have managed to do just that. Ranking in the top 1 percent of sales volume at Keller Williams Worldwide, Williams’ sales volume in 2015 ($48 million) was more than five times larger than her numbers in 2012.

Williams began selling homes in 2001 after a career in marketing and sales for builders and developers. Rebecca is the President and CEO of Midwest Real Estate Data (MRED).  She has worked in the MLS industry since 1998 and for eight years, she was the CEO of Utah’s regional MLS, UtahRealEstate.com.  She graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in computer science, and she has also earned an MBA in technology commercialization from Westminster College.  She is a member of the Executive Committee for the COVE MLS group, serves on committees at the National Association of Realtors, and she is a member of the MLS Executive Advisory Board at Realtor.com.
During her tenure at UtahRealEstate.com MLS (URE), Rebecca led the effort to develop, and successfully deploy a new in-house MLS platform, including an integrated public facing website and mobile apps.  URE grew to provide service for over 90% of Utah's Realtors due to the MLS consolidation efforts she led.
Rebecca also diversified the MLS's offering by expanding services to property managers. This enabled her to create the Property Pond Rentals Platform, which included a consumer facing website for rental properties and mobile apps.
Rebecca was elected to the Board of The Real Estate Standards Organization (RESO) in the fall of 2010.  She became the Board Chair in January 2011 where she served in that capacity until 2015.  During her time as Chair, she was able to develop and implement a sustainable long-term strategic plan, which included restructuring the entity to gain more support from the industry.  This resulted in RESO successfully creating the first real estate data dictionary, web API standard, and compliance programs.  In 2014, The National Association of Realtors approved a policy that required all MLS's to adopt RESO's standards.  This was a tremendous milestone for the industry.

Matt Harris

Matt started his investing career at Bain Capital private equity in 1995, having worked previously at Bain & Company, and attended Williams College, where he majored in rugby. Outside of work, Matt enjoys spending any free moments with his wife, Jessica, and their five children. His knowledge and enthusiasm for both real estate and food have naturally gone hand in hand, though, today, much of Paul's time is spent expanding ideas of how New York City real estate is moving forward in the 21st Century through the immediacy of social media. Always active on his popular blog www.hungrydomaine.com where he discusses. Real estate and food (including some excellent recipes), he also utilizes Twitter and his real estate Facebook fanpage to keep his friends and clients up to the second on all real estate related news.

For the past year, Paul has taken this zeal for social media on the road leading classes and lectures on the subject to other real estate professionals at a variety of events, conferences, and meetings including the 2010 Inman New York Conference, Green Pearl of New York, in addition to several events hosted by the Real Estate Board of New York. His charming sense of humor, savvy know-how, responsiveness and unbeatable work ethic make Paul a real estate broker buyers and sellers look forward to working with again and again.

Vachi Udolkin

Vachi Udolkin is a Miami top producer known for his innovative use of video, social media, texting, data, and automation. His expertise in these platforms resulted in more than 120 transactions in 2017, which generated $45 million in real estate sales. He has built and currently leads a team of 11 members including agents and professional support at RE/MAX Advance Realty in Miami.

David Karandish

David Karandish is the CoFounder and Chief Executive Officer of Jane.ai, an enterprise artificial intelligence company focused on making all company intelligence accessible in the simplest possible way (think Siri for the workplace).

Before founding Jane.ai, David was the CEO of Answers Corporation. David and Chris Sims started the parent company of Answers in 2006 and sold the company to a private equity firm in 2014 for north of $900m. Prior to Answers, David was the CEO of Expo Group, an online resource in the consumer financial services industry.

David and Chris Sims’ investment entity Equity.com led the Series A round in Varsity Tutors (an on-demand, real-time learning platform in the ed tech space) and helped incubate Create a Loop (a computer science education non-profit founded to tackle the digital divide) and Prepare.ai (a non-profit founded to provide educational resources and strategic guidance about Artificial Intelligence to individuals, communities, and companies). David is on the Board of Directors of both organizations.

David holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science and a second major in entrepreneurship from Washington University in St. Louis, where he graduated cum laude. He is a member of the Gateway chapter of the Young Presidents’ Organization. David lives in St. Louis with his wife, Erin and four kids. When not working, he enjoys spending time with his family and playing ukulele.

Todd Sumney

Todd Sumney is the Chief Industry Officer for HomeSmart International where he actively builds and maintains the HomeSmart brand, drives marketing continuity and adoption of HomeSmart tools and resources, and represents HomeSmart throughout the industry, franchise system and agent population. Prior to that, Sumney held the position of Chief Marketing Officer where he led the in-house marketing agency, and all inbound marketing efforts, as well as outbound marketing campaigns from concept to execution. On any given week, Sumney can usually be found with a Red Bull can in his hand, wearing red, black and white and speaking to HomeSmart brokers and sales associates worldwide about leveraging the power of the Brand and innovative ways to increase their businesses. He is especially passionate about mobile & video marketing and offers agents years of effective insights in those two areas.

Sumney came to HomeSmart with more than 30 years of brand management, positioning and strategic marketing experience for large companies and clients across multiple industries including Dole Foods, Coleman, Intel, Ritz-Carlton Hotels and Realty Executives International. He brings enduring real estate industry relationships to HomeSmart International and is currently a member of the Realtor.com Advisory board, and has held positions on Trulia’s Advisory Board and other real estate-related leadership committees. Sumney holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Taylor University in Indiana. When he can be pulled away from his work, Sumney enjoys spending time with his family on the beach, the golf course or at a good winery.

Raj Bhaskar

Raj Bhaskar is the Co-Founder & CEO of Hurdlr. Hurdlr is like a Fitbit for agents' financial performance. It won Realogy's FWD 2017 innovation competition, and has already helped users track $6B in finances and save $250M in taxes.  Prior to Hurdlr, Raj was the CEO of VisualHOMES, a financial and compliance platform for public and affordable housing.  Over ten years, Raj grew it to .5M housing units, 2M residents, and $200M in monthly rental payments, prior to its acquisition by Yardi.  Raj graduated, with honors, from The George Washington University.
