CampusMBA partners with Encomia

The Mortgage Bankers Association on Friday announced a partnership with Encomia LP in which CampusMBA, the educational arm of the Mortgage Bankers Association, will offer Encomia’s eMortgage courseware through its online courses.

Encomia’s eMortgage courseware aims to give mortgage lending professionals a broad introduction to electronic mortgages. Electronic mortgages (eMortgages) are revolutionizing the mortgage industry, aiming to help lenders and title companies reduce costs, increase liquidity and scalability, and empower borrowers with a greater understanding of the mortgage process.

“The mission of the Mortgage Industry Standards Maintenance Organization [MISMO] is to develop, promote and maintain voluntary electronic commerce [eCommerce] standards for the mortgage industry. Encomia does a good job of incorporating MISMO standards into its Web-based course,” said Gabe Minton, vice president of MBA industry technology.

CampusMBA will begin offering an eMortgage Web-based course in March 2004. An audio course on eMortgages will be available the following month. CampusMBA offers a comprehensive residential and commercial real estate finance curriculum; a distance-learning curriculum of Web-based, print-based, audio-based and video-based courses; professional designations and certificate programs; and live classroom-based programs and seminars, including the School of Mortgage Banking (SOMB).

Washington, D.C.-based Mortgage Bankers Association is a national association representing the real estate finance industry.
