NRT buys New York brokerage

The Corcoran Group, a member of the NRT family of companies, today announced it has acquired Dayton-Halstead LLC in East Hampton, N.Y.

Dayton-Halstead is known particularly for its strong heritage in serving the real estate needs of the Hamptons and neighboring communities since 1906, according to a press statement. The company markets a wide range of properties that includes primary homes, summer cottages, oceanfront mansions, commercial properties and undeveloped acreage. Dayton-Halstead’s 44 agents in three offices in East Hampton, Bridgehampton and Sag Harbor, N.Y., accounted for a total closed sales volume of $133 million in 2003.

Pamela Liebman, president and chief executive officer for The Corcoran Group, will continue in her role overseeing operations in New York City, the Hamptons and Palm Beach. Melanie Ross will continue her role as regional vice president for The Corcoran Group in the Hamptons. Diane Saatchi, president of Dayton-Halstead, will become vice president of sales for The Corcoran Group in the Hamptons.

With this announcement, New York City-based The Corcoran Group has nearly 200 sales associates in 13 offices in the Hamptons, Shelter Island and the North Fork. In total, The Corcoran Group has more than 1,100 sales associates in 23 offices that also include Manhattan, Brooklyn and Palm Beach. In 2003, the company said its combined organization accounted for more than $5.3 billion in total closed sales volume.
