BofA economist to speak at Real Estate Connect

Carter Murdoch will speak at Real Estate Connect July 28-30 in San Francisco.

Dr. Carter W. Murdoch is a man who knows a lot about economics, and he has the resume and academic degrees to prove it.

The senior vice president of Bank of America’s Real Estate Partnership Group earned a doctorate in economics from Drexel University in Philadelphia, a master’s degree in administration from Villanova University, and a bachelor’s degree in economics from Syracuse University. He now divides his time between Charlotte, N.C., and Philadelphia.

Prior to joining Bank of America, he was managing director and principal economist for the National Association of Realtors. In that position, he was responsible for creating, designing, producing, selling and marketing research products and services to real estate companies.

Before his stint at NAR, he was co-CEO of BidTrac, a Philadelphia-based real estate software company that developed online appointment and online bidding software. The company was sold in 2001 to Salt Lake City-based Xvariant.

He also at one time was assistant professor of economics at Valley Forge Military College and an instructor of undergraduate and graduate level courses in economics and finance at Drexel University. He concurrently built a real estate practice with annual sales of $2-4 million.
