Video game retailer relocates headquarters

Texas-based developer Hillwood has sold a 369,200-square-foot building in Grapevine, Texas, to video game retailer GameStop.

The value of the transaction was not disclosed.

The property, located at 625 Westport Parkway, will serve as the GameStop’s corporate headquarters and distribution center. GameStop will be operational in the new building in the spring of 2005.

Hillwood developed this facility in 1999 as a build-to-suit for online grocer Webvan, which never occupied the building.

Hillwood was represented by Dan Tatsch of Hillwood and Mark Miller of Robert Lynn Co. GameStop was represented by Tom McCarthy and Sharon Morrison of The Staubach Co.

Grapevine, Texas-based GameStop Corp. (NYSE: GME) carries one of the largest assortments of popular new and used video game hardware, video game software and accessories, PC entertainment software, and related products, including action figures, and strategy guides.

Hillwood, a Perot company, is a commercial real estate developer and residential developer in Dallas-Fort Worth.
