Real estate franchisor unplugs agents

Realty World Northern California, a regional real estate franchisor, today said it plans to implement an enterprise wireless mobile office service for its 1,100 agents in more than 400 real estate offices in Northern California and Northern Nevada.

The Realty World Wireless Office will be bundled as part of the company’s standard offering to new franchisees and will be available to existing franchisees as an option.

The wireless office was developed by Criterion Corp., which provides mobile hardware and software applications for the real estate industry. The package features Criterion’s RedTablet Mobile Office Solution, which consists of a Tablet PC, Microsoft Windows Office XP software, a Sprint wireless card, HP deskjet mobile printer and a carrying case. Agents can choose from additional options, which include additional hard disk storage, docking station and digital camera, among others.

With the wireless office, agents and brokers also will have anytime wireless access to the MLS, as well as to the Realty World Northern California corporate Web site and member services system, which offers Realty World members Web mail, a message board, marketing tools, settlement services, connection to affiliated vendors and a custom-designed transaction management system that encompasses all corporate reporting, accounting, listings and sales for the entire organization.

“We plan to integrate the Realty World Wireless Office into our television advertising, direct mail and other consumer-focused campaigns,” Realty World Northern California President Scott LeForce said.

The company believes the offering will differentiate its brand among brokers, agents and consumers, and that it will encourage tech-savvy home buyers and sellers to conduct business with Realty World members.
