Stewart buys Washington title co.

Stewart Title Co. has acquired Whitman County Title in Pullman, Wash., the company announced Tuesday.

Existing key management and staff will remain at Whitman County Title, which is located at 130 North Grand Ave. Whitman County Title has been in business since 1979.

“With this acquisition and the scheduled June 1 opening of our Stewart Title office in Spokane, we will have excellent coverage in the eastern part of the state,” said Michael Gish, district agency manager, Stewart Title Guaranty Co.

Located in southeastern Washington in a thriving agricultural area, Pullman is a town of 25,000 residents located 75 miles south of Spokane and eight miles from Moscow, Idaho.

Stewart Title Guaranty Co., a subsidiary of Stewart Information Services Corp., provides title insurance and related information services through more than 7,400 issuing locations in the United States and several international markets.
