Homestore, AOL renew real estate content deal

Homestore and America Online today renewed an agreement that retains Homestore as the exclusive provider of real estate listings in AOL’s Real Estate Channel and in related areas of AOL.com, Netscape, CompuServe and AOL CityGuide.

As part of this agreement, millions of visitors to the AOL properties can access more than 8 million home and apartment listings from Homestore and its network of home and real estate Web sites, including Realtor.com, HomeBuilder.com and RENTNET. They will have access to a comprehensive online database of property listings and real estate service providers, virtual tours, photos, resources, advice, decision support tools, and much more.

The new agreement replaces the distribution agreement signed in January 2003, which expired on June 30, 2004, and will reduce Homestore’s traffic acquisition costs. The specific terms of the agreement are not being disclosed.

Westlake Village, Calif.-based Homestore owns and operates Realtor.com, the official Web site of the National Association of Realtors.
