HomeServices expands in Southern California

Prudential California Realty, a HomeServices of America company, has acquired the residential real estate brokerage business of Elkins Rothermund Rudman, doing business as Prudential California Realty in Palm Desert and La Quinta.

The value of the transaction was not disclosed.

“Palm Desert and La Quinta represent important additions to HomeServices’ portfolio of markets,” said Ron Peltier, president and CEO of HomeServices. “The acquisition expands our California presence into Riverside County, the fastest-growing county in California. Coupled with last year’s expansion into Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo counties, our California footprint now spans from the Central Coast down to Mexico.”

HomeServices’ California operations nearly doubled in size since 2002, Peltier added.

Steve Games, president and CEO of Prudential California Realty said expansion into the Coachella Valley, referred to as “The Desert” is key to the company’s growth.

Prudential California Realty is a subsidiary of HomeServices of America, a Berkshire Hathaway affiliate. Prudential California has approximately 4,600 sales associates and 82 offices in San Diego, Orange, Los Angeles, Ventura, Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo and Riverside counties.
