How global trends impact New York real estate

The New York Council of the International Real Estate Federation (FIABCI), the Fordham Real Estate Society and the New York Commercial Real Estate Women’s Network (NYCREW) are organizing a July 29 seminar to focus on the emerging global trends likely to affect the New York’s real estate industry and overall economy.

The event will be held at 5:15 p.m. at the Fordham Graduate at Lincoln Center, 113 W. 60th St. in New York City. The cost is $35 for members of FIABCI, Fordham and NYCREW, and $45 for non-members.

The seminar, titled “Looking Toward 2005 and Beyond – New York in the Global Economy,” is open to all real estate professionals and will feature a panel that includes: Linda Goldberg, vice president of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York; Peter Riguardi, president of the New York region for Jones Lang LaSalle; and Leslie Norton, Asian editor at Barron’s.

Sharon Smith, dean of business schools at Fordham University, will moderate the seminar. Robyn Frank-Pedersen, associate broker for the Corcoran Group and FIABCI New York Council program director; and Barbara E. Champoux, Partner with Sullivan & Worcester and President of NYCREW, will serve as co-chairs for the event.

The New York Council of FIABCI covers the economic region extending from New York to New Jersey, Connecticut and Pennsylvania and is part of the U.S. chapter of FIABCI. Created in 1951, FIABCI is the only multidisciplinary, multisector and multilingual federation serving the interests of real estate professionals and associations in 70 countries around the world. Headquartered in Paris, FIABCI has national chapters in 50 countries.
