Foxtons appoints former C21 exec as new CEO

Foxtons North America has appointed Van Davis as president and CEO, effective immediately. Davis is the former president and CEO of Century 21 Real Estate Corp.

Davis, 45, left Century 21 to lead Foxtons, a discount residential real estate brokerage that operates in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. Davis plans to lead Foxtons into more major markets and make it a national player in the residential real estate business.

“There is more net worth invested in real estate than ever before. Additionally, technology has fostered significant change in the real estate needs and expectations of both home buyers and home sellers. With the addition of our upgraded premium quality services we will be well positioned to meet those new demands,” Davis said.

Davis began his career at Century 21 in 1985 as a sales associate and later purchased a Century 21 franchise in Maine. Davis sold his share in the company in 1993 and joined Century 21’s corporate staff in 1994. At Century 21, Davis held various executive positions prior to his appointment to president and CEO in 2000.

Foxtons’ corporate offices and a 100-person call center are located in West Long Branch, N.J. The company was founded as YHD Realty and changed its name to YHD Foxtons after London-based Foxtons Real Estate invested $20 million in the U.S. operation in early 2001. The company dropped the YHD from its name in April 2003.

Foxtons founder and CEO Jon Hunt in March took over as chief executive of Foxtons North America after the buyout and departure of former CEO and founder Glenn Cohen.
