Mortgage platform gets another transaction piece

LandAmerica Financial Group and Ellie Mae today launched a full integration of LandAmerica Tax and Flood Services with the ePASS Web mortgage transaction platform. Mortgage originators now can order LandAmerica’s flood hazard certification services through ePASS.

Mortgage originators will be able to set up LandAmerica as an ePASS “QuickLink.” This link will remember the originator’s user name and password, and with two clicks of a mouse, enable users to order and receive flood certifications in real time. The certifications are accessible at any time for viewing and printing directly on the desktop. The system eliminates the re-keying of data.

Richmond, Va.-based LandAmerica Financial Group is a provider of real estate transaction services. Ellie Mae, based in Dublin, Calif., provides desktop and Web-enabled technology for the mortgage industry.

Ellie Mae’s ePASS technology connects third-party mortgage origination companies to their wholesale lenders and settlement service providers. More than 1.4 million loans were originated using ePASS technology in the first quarter of 2004, according to the company.

LandAmerica Tax and Flood Services maintains a nationwide network that provides tax and flood services to the mortgage lending industry.

“We now will be available to 90 percent of the mortgage originators via ePASS, providing us with a real opportunity to expand our services,” said Dale Quarto, president of LandAmerica Tax and Flood Services.
