HomeServices grows in North Carolina

HomeServices of America, a Berkshire Hathaway affiliate, has acquired Winston-Salem, N.C.-based Graham & Boles Properties.

Graham & Boles is the third largest residential real estate brokerage in the Triad area of North Carolina, according to HomeServices. Following the acquisition, the brokerage will merge with Prudential Carolinas Realty, which HomeServices acquired in April.

In connection with the acquisition and merger, HomeServices will name Katy Boles president and chief operating officer of Prudential Carolinas Realty. Robert Helms will continue to serve as the company’s chief executive.

“When they approached us a few months ago about the possibility of acquiring Graham & Boles, I knew it was an offer I wanted to seriously consider,” Boles said. “I have known Ron Peltier and the philosophy of the management team at HomeServices for many years and have a great deal of respect for them. I am confident they will provide strong support and a leadership network as we integrate Graham & Boles into HomeServices.”

Minneapolis-based HomeServices is one of the largest full-service, independent residential real estate brokerage firms in the nation. HomeServices’ operating companies offer integrated real estate services, including brokerage services, mortgage originations, title and closing services, home warranties, property and casualty insurance and other related services.

HomeServices operates in 18 states under the brand names Carol Jones Realtors, CBSHOME Real Estate, Champion Realty, Edina Realty, Esslinger-Wooten-Maxwell Realtors, First Realty/GMAC, HOME Real Estate, Iowa Realty, Jenny Pruitt and Associates, Long Realty, Prudential California Realty, Prudential Carolinas Realty, RealtySouth, Rector-Hayden Realtors, Reece & Nichols, Semonin Realtors and Woods Bros.
