Gay Real Estate launches agent database

Gay Real Estate Inc. has launched a global database of more than 4,000 gay, lesbian and gay-friendly residential and commercial real estate agents, offering advice, guidance and resources designed specifically for the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community.

Gay Real Estate has added new resources and support for buyers and sellers, including a lesbian realty agent referral service at LesbianHomes.com, and GayMortgageLoans.com, which focuses on providing gay, lesbian and transgender people with assistance in obtaining a mortgage.

Jeff Hammerberg, president of Gay Real Estate, started HomeLounge.com seven years ago as a real estate agent referral and relocation service geared toward the gay and lesbian community.

“We closed over 65 residential deals in 2003, amounting to over $19 million in real estate sales and purchases, coast-to-coast,” Hammerberg said.

Other resources available on GayRealEstate.com include guidance and support for buyers on how to select the right agent, tips for negotiating a good contract, 10 secrets for home buyers and advice on closing the deal. Advice for sellers includes how to pick the right agent, how to get started with the selling process and the top 10 biggest selling myths.

“Our mission at GayRealEstate.com is very clear,” Hammerberg said. “We want to ensure that members of the gay, lesbian and transgender community have a resource that can guide them to quality agents who will represent them without bias in the purchase and or sale of residential or commercial real estate.”
