Discount real estate brokerage expands

Assist-2-Sell, among the largest residential discount real estate companies in North America, has grown about 43 percent this year, adding 25 owner-operated franchises in September alone, the company announced this week.

Formed in 1987, the Reno, Nev.-based discounter has 421 franchises in the United States and Canada, and its franchises are in 46 U.S. states.

Assist-2-Sell cofounders and co-owners Mary LaMeres-Pomin and Lyle E. Martin said the company has entered the Wyoming market with a franchise in Gillette.

“Thanks to strong, steadily increasing demand from home sellers, our company’s growth has surpassed predictions we made a few years ago,” LaMeres-Pomin and Martin said in a joint statement. “Our latest projections call for us to surpass 500 franchises in the spring of 2005, nearly nine months earlier than we had projected.”

Besides the Wyoming franchise, the new Assist-2-Sell operations are in the cities or communities of: Avondale, Ariz.; Elk Grove, Gilroy, La Mesa, Lompoc, Pleasant Hills, and Pleasanton, Calif.; Littleton, Colo.; Arlington, Brandon, Coconut Creek/Margate, Largo, North Lauderdale, Sunrise, St. Augustine, and St. Cloud, Fla.; Plymouth, Mass.; Weldon Springs, Mo.; Gilford, N.H.; Toledo, Ohio; Thorpe, Wis.; El Paso and Katy, Texas, and Louisville, Ky.

Assist-2-Sell franchises offer a range of services, from a paperwork-only program for a flat fee to a full multiple listing marketing plan. Home buyers who work with Assist-2-Sell have the option to purchase homes direct from Assist-2-Sell sellers.
