Digital real estate innovators to meet in NYC

Emerging trends in the real estate industry’s use of digital technologies, online lead generation, the move toward paperless transactions and innovative uses of new media content will be among the featured topics at Real Estate Connect ’05/New York City, set for January 9-11, 2005 at the historic Waldorf Astoria hotel.

Topping the conference agenda will be James Surowiecki, staff writer and columnist at The New Yorker and author of “The Wisdom of Crowds: Why the Many Are Smarter Than the Few and How Collective Wisdom Shapes Business, Economies, Societies and Nations;” and Stanford University law professor Lawrence Lessig, author of “The Future of Ideas.”

Other speakers will include Van Davis, CEO and president, Foxtons North America; Lockhart Steele, publisher, Curbed.com; Richard Sommer, CEO, HomeGain; Craig Newmark, CEO, Craigslist; Declan Dunn, CEO and founder, Dunn Direct Group; Shawn Collins, president and CEO, Shawn Collins Consulting; Thomas Reddin, CEO, IAC Financial Services and Real Estate; Tom Evans, president and CEO, Bankrate; Matt Coffin, CEO, LowerMyBills; and Purnendu Ojha, president and CEO, NextTag.

“The future success of more than a million real estate agents and thousands of real estate brokerages may hinge on the industry’s ability to apply emerging digital technologies to help speed the real estate transaction and provide faster, better service to today’s digital consumer,” said Bradley Inman, founder and publisher of Inman News.

“Real Estate Connect New York is the only place where players at all levels of the real estate industry can meet for a no-holds-barred discussion of these trends, as well as new business models, products and practices,” Inman added.

Tickets for Real Estate Connect ’05/New York City go on sale Friday, November 19, at midnight, EST. For more information, visit the Real Estate Connect ’05 Web site. A second conference, Real Estate Connect ’05/San Francisco, is set for July 27-29, 2005, at San Francisco’s Palace Hotel.
