Homestore revamps Senior, new-homes Web sites

SeniorHousingNet on Tuesday launched its newly redesigned Web site, returning to a brand familiar to consumers and the industry. Founded in 1998, SeniorHousingNet is an online resource for those looking for senior housing and care options across the United States.

The site is part of Homestore’s network of home and real estate-related Web sites, and provides consumers with comprehensive information about independent living, nursing care, assisted living, Alzheimer’s care and continuing care retirement communities. The Web site has more than 40,000 listings nationwide and also is used by senior living management companies that want to reach online consumers.

HomeBuilder.com, a division of Homestore, and the official new homes Web site of the National Association of Home Builders, also has made significant changes to its Web site. HomeBuilder.com is the exclusive new-home content provider to AOL, MSN, Yahoo! and United Online.

The site redesign centers on a dramatic enhancement of the search functionality of HomeBuilder.com’s proprietary new home community database of more than 100,000 available home sites. Consumers can now locate new homes by precise geographies, re-rank their search results based on their own criteria and map all search results. Other changes allow builders to promote their communities more prominently as well as to offer display advertising within a more focused geography.

Westlake Village, Calif.-based Homestore provides marketing exposure and technology products to the real estate industry. The company also operates Realtor.com, the official Web site of the National Association of Realtors.
