IndyMac unveils Spanish-language B2B Web site

IndyMac Bank has launched a new Spanish business-to-business Web site designed to provide bilingual broker, mortgage bank and financial institutions customers with a resource for mortgage product and marketing information in Spanish.

The site, Zona Hipotecaria (Mortgage Zone), is a link from IndyMac’s primary B2B Web site and uses many of the same marketing materials available on that site. Other targeted content on the Spanish “microsite” includes product information, online tools and a glossary of mortgage terms.

According to a 2004 market research report by the Association of Hispanic Advertising Agencies, the U.S. Hispanic population in 2003 had reached 38.5 million people with an estimated combined purchasing power of more than $630 billion. More than a third of married Hispanics earned a combined household income that exceeded $50,000.

“Taking all this data into consideration, the growth potential posed to mortgage originators servicing this ethnic market is quite remarkable,” said Frank Sillman, CEO of IndyMac’s Mortgage Professionals Group. “This new microsite is part of a larger Web strategy to expand IndyMac’s reach and provide Spanish marketing and educational tools, via the Internet, for our customers who conduct business in the Hispanic community.”

Sillman said IndyMac is the first national lender to offer a Spanish Web site for an audience of mortgage professionals.

IndyMac Bank is the largest savings and loan in Los Angeles and the ninth largest nationwide (based on assets).
