Cyber-conference puts new spin on real estate shopping

A San Diego Web-based real estate company is offering consumers the opportunity to participate in live “Cyber Conferences” with Realtors who help guide their online home searches.

Steven Faulkner, a broker associate at Realty Executives who owns HouseConsumer.com, pioneered the new service. Faulkner said, “Clients were often confused about price ranges and availability in different areas. The new service lets them experience a live cyber-conference with a professional Realtor who guides them through the MLS, from the comfort of their own desktop. It solves both our problems simultaneously.”

Consumers can visit http://www.houseconsumer.com/gold_custom2.asp to set up an appointment to meet with a Realtor online, or they can call (619) 208-9632.

The HouseConsumer.com announcement notes that there are more than 11,000 homes on the market in the San Diego area, “so finding the correct home can turn into a shopping marathon. Because (consumers) do not search the MLS every day, they are unsuccessful in communicating what they really want. We all know that bad communication equals bad results.” The Cyber Conference service is intended to speed up the home-search process, the announcement also states.

Consumers can view MLS data online – including pictures, virtual tours, square footage and other information – as they chat with a Realtor during a Cyber Conference. They can also sign up to receive e-mails about newly listed properties.
