Coldwell real estate brokerage expands in New York

Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage on New York’s Long Island today announced it has acquired the assets of First Choice Real Estate Inc. in Fresh Meadows, N.Y. First Choice Real Estate will now operate under the banner of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage.

First Choice Real Estate’s single office, which has more than 80 sales associates, accounted for $365 million in sales volume over the last 12 months and is the largest residential real estate company in Queens, according to a press statement. With this announcement, Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage now includes 26 offices and 1,100 sales associates on Long Island and in Queens.

Kate Rossi, president and chief operating officer for Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage on Long Island, will now oversee the Queens operation, as well. Steven Blumner, former owner and president of First Choice Real Estate, and his brother, Jack Blumner, owner and vice president, will remain with the newly combined organization in consultant roles.

Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage is a member of the NRT family of companies, one of the nation’s largest residential real estate brokerage conglomerates. NRT is a subsidiary of Cendant Corp.
