Chicago MLS elects new board of directors

The Multiple Listing Service of Northern Illinois (MLSNI), the largest real estate listing service in the Chicagoland area, recently announced the election results for its board of directors.

The MLS has been at the center of controversy this year, undergoing an expensive forensic audit, terminating its CEO and losing certain listings from some top brokers in the area. It is one of the largest Realtor-owned and operated MLSs in the country.

The 2004-2005 MLSNI directors are:

Dennis Stone (Aurora Tri-County Association of Realtors); Sid Woods (Chicago Association of Realtors); Susan Miller (McHenry County Association of Realtors); Georgia Pierini (North Shore-Barrington Association of Realtors); Al Rossell (Oak Park Board of Realtors); Jeff Kellenberger (Realtor Association of Fox Valley); Michael Goins (Realtor Association of Northwest Chicagoland); Pat Callan (Realtor Association of West/South Suburban Chicagoland); Eleanor Nastepniak (Three Rivers Association of Realtors); and Loretta Alonzo (West Towns Board of Realtors).

Broker directors include: Fran Broude (Coldwell Banker Residential); Charles Melidosian (Baird & Warner); Connie Conway (Koenig & Strey GMAC); Bill O’Donnell (Starck & Co.); Mike Prodehl (Coldwell Banker Honig-Bell); Chuck Dinolfo (Century 21 Pro Team); David McClintock (Century 21 Dabbs); James Roth (Prudential Preferred Properties); Joel Adams (Re/Max Suburban); John Andrus (Andrus Realty Group Inc.); Jean Botts (Century 21 Homestead); and John Schmitt (John Greene Realtor).

Loretta Alonzo was elected by the board to serve as board president for the second consecutive year and Jeff Kellenberger was elected as secretary.

The board is comprised of 22 directors. One director is elected from each of the 10 Chicago-area boards and associations of Realtors that share in ownership of MLSNI. The other 12 directors are elected by MLSNI participant offices within categories determined by market share.

The MLSNI serves more than 41,000 subscribers aligned with more than 7,300 offices in the Chicagoland area.
