New York real estate group debuts online leases

The Real Estate Board of New York, known as REBNY, is now offering lease forms on its Web site, www.rebny.com, in an attempt to expedite real estate transactions.

Members first download the forms, and then enter the necessary data into tables. Draft and final lease forms can be saved to a computer as a PDF file, making it easy to print or e-mail.

“Our members are always looking for ways to streamline procedures and minimize paperwork,” said Bill Auerbach, REBNY’s chief financial officer. “The ability to download lease forms from our Web site will make everyday lease transactions faster and less stressful. In addition, the recently enacted lead paint laws require additional administrative work for many building owners. The downloadable forms will make it less time-consuming for members to comply with the new laws.”

The online program includes New York City’s new lead paint forms as well as other riders that can be completed and printed at no charge. Leases are purchased once the documents are finalized in amounts ranging from 1 to 100 forms. REBNY is offering discounts to all members for the purchase of residential and commercial leases. Members simply log into the “Members Only” link of the Web site, and then click on the “Online Leases” icon.

The “support” icon on REBNY’s Web site provides additional information for navigating the site. When printing the forms, members should make sure their printer is set for legal paper. Members who have questions about the forms can contact Farida Fadhil at farida@rebny.com.
