IPIX expands virtual real estate tour capabilities

IPIX InfoMedia on Thursday launched an expanded image hosting service, Host@IPIX, which gives real estate professionals the option to upload links of their IPIX-hosted virtual tours to Realtor.com, the official Web site of the National Association of Realtors.

Host@IPIX, which has been redesigned with a new customizable template and per-tour payment options, provides an easy online interface to store, update, view and share virtual tours.

IPIX worked with Homestore Inc., operator of Realtor.com, to make Host@IPIX compatible with Homestore’s new PicturePath virtual tour linking program.

“With Host@IPIX I can easily upload my tours, post them to Realtor.com and immediately send links to potential buyers or use the links provided to embed in my own Web site,” said Mike Mackillip, Digital Magic, Littleton, Colo.

IPIX technology gives potential buyers the visual interactive content needed to virtually walk through a home and make informed buying decisions. According to a Pew Internet & American Life Project November 2004 survey, on a typical day more than 2 million people are using the Internet to take a virtual tour.

IPIX InfoMedia is a developer of full 360-degree panoramic image technology.
