What type of home did you grow up in and where?

A four-bedroom home filled with six older sisters in Larchmont, N.Y.

What style of home do you live in and when did you buy it?

I live in a ranch style home situated on 12 acres looking over the Honey Run Canyon in Chico, Calif. – bought in 2003.

What worries keep you awake at night?

Worries don’t keep me awake at night — I let them keep me awake during the day.

Describe your dream home?

I live in my dream home, tons of space with a view that will never be interrupted, private, peaceful, yet still close to the cozy city of Chico.

What lesson did you learn in the last year?

I learned that real estate lead conversion depends on integrating online and offline efforts closely. Just working leads from the Internet through Internet-only sources leads to limited success.

My first job was writing press releases for the top concert promoter in Denver, Barry Fey, for the Rolling Stones and The Who concerts.

What’s the strangest thing you ever packed in a suitcase?

The strangest thing I ever packed into a suitcase was two pounds of walnuts for a trip to Australia, which were seized upon arrival.

What would your second career choice be?

My second career choice is writing fiction.

What kind of music do you listen to?

I listen to all kinds of music, from jazz to classical. I listen to unique voices like Charlie Parker and Bjork, more than listening to styles.

Who is your hero?

My hero is the Dalai Lama.
