The Asian Real Estate Association of America (AREAA) will hold its first national marketing conference and gala on Oct. 26 in San Francisco, the group announced today.

The conference, targeted at real estate professionals who serve the Asian-American community, will feature presentations from industry leaders who will share their insights on this fast-growing market.

Attendees will receive the latest demographic information and learn cultural nuances of the Asian consumer that will enable them to more effectively market to this emerging group, according to the announcement.

The conference will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Oct. 26 at the Argent Hotel in San Francisco. A cocktail reception is scheduled at 6 p.m., directly followed by a gala to honor the group’s incoming president, Allen Okamoto of T. Okamoto & Co.

Registration for the event is available online at http://www.areaa.org/. Information is available at this Web site or by calling (281) 491-8872.

Formed in 2001, the Asian Real Estate Association of American is a national trade association committed to enhancing the business opportunities and success of real estate professionals serving the Asian American community. AREAA is dedicated to promoting homeownership opportunities among the many Asian American communities throughout the nation.

The group has members in Canada, Singapore and in states across the country. Members of the group’s board of directors include professionals from a variety of realty, bank, equity and title companies.

The group’s initiatives are focused on providing an accurate account of the issues facing Asian-Americans as they relate to housing and home ownership.

“Some data indicates that Asian-Americans are doing quite well, particularly in comparison to other racial minorities. However, the population is a diverse one; with many ethnic, cultural, language and religious groups, and each with its unique history and experience,” according to a description at the group’s Web site.
