Intero named fastest-growing real estate company

Intero Real Estate Services Inc. today announced that it was recognized by Realtor Magazine as the fastest-growing real estate company in the nation. Realtor Magazine, the official magazine of the National Association of Realtors trade group, ranked Intero first among about 80,000 brokerages nationwide in growth of sales, which increased 167.6 percent, and transaction sides, which increased 128.3 percent.

“This is truly an incredible accomplishment in our second full year of operation,” said Gino Blefari, founder, president and CEO of Intero Real Estate Services.

In addition to being ranked top in the nation for growth of sales and transaction sides, Realtor Magazine also ranked Intero Real Estate Services 23rd for total sales volume and 83rd for transaction sides.

Established in 2002 by founders Gino Blefari, John Thompson, Tom Tognoli, Jerry Kiss, Brian Crane, Terry Meyer and Kevin Moles, Intero Real Estate Services has about 1,400 agents in 32 offices serving California and Arizona. With more than $4.47 billion in sales volume in its second full year of operation, Intero Real Estate Services is the fastest-growing real estate company in the history of the industry. For 2004, a Real Trends survey ranked Intero Real Estate Services 22nd out of the nation’s residential real estate brokerage firms.

In September 2004, Intero, based in Cupertino, Calif., announced that it joined The Realty Alliance, a national invitation-only real estate networking and think-tank group. At that time, the company reported that it had about 825 salespeople and 15 offices.

Robert Moles, former president and CEO of Cendant Corp’s Real Estate Franchise Group, joined Intero as chairman, director and shareholder in 2004.
