Apartment industry gets automated pricing technology

The apartment industry now has an online rate-updating tool through Realty DataTrust’s VaultWare DX, the company announced today.

VaultWare is an online availability and reservation service for apartment leasing agents and property management companies. The new enhancements provide automated online pricing updates for available apartments.

The VaultWare DX feature will manage and distribute current apartment rent ranges to participating Internet Listing Services where the apartment community is advertising. The service is possible through integration with apartment managers’ existing property management systems.

Rates are displayed on the VaultWare-powered apartment availability pages and also on the Internet Listing Services’ property overview pages. These pages are typically viewed first when shoppers start exploring a property that interests them, the company said.

Apartment communities using VaultWare or VaultWare DX immediately can display automated rate updates on Apartments.com, Apartmentguide.com and Forrent.com as well as on their own company Web site. VaultWare DX will also be available for use with Rentnet.com by the end of the month.

Realty DataTrust said it is working with additional Internet Listing Services to further increase compatibility of the technology.

The VaultWare DX feature is available as an enhancement for current VaultWare customers at no additional charge. The product is also available on its own for a minimal setup fee and $120 subscription per year per property.

Scottsdale, Ariz.-based Realty DataTrust provides online leasing technologies to the apartment industry.
