Pharmaceutical maker expands in South Florida

Duke Realty Corp. has signed Cranbury, N.J.-based Kos Pharmaceuticals to a 96,175-square-foot office lease at Weston Pointe IV in Weston, Fla.

The value of the transaction was not disclosed.

Kos will occupy the entire four-story, class A suburban office building upon its December completion, and the transaction brings Duke’s Weston Pointe development to more than 97.5 percent occupancy.

Kos will move from Duke’s Weston Pointe II building, where it grew from approximately 24,000 square feet to 51,000 square feet in an 18-month period. The company was recently ranked No. 6 on Fortune Magazine’s list of the top 100 fastest-growing companies in the U.S., according to a press statement.

Kos Pharmaceuticals Inc. is a fully integrated specialty pharmaceutical company engaged in developing, commercializing, manufacturing and marketing proprietary prescription products for the treatment of chronic diseases. The company currently markets Niaspan and Advicor for the treatment of cholesterol disorders, Azmacort for the treatment of asthma, Cardizem LA for the treatment of hypertension and angina, and Teveten and Teveten HCT for the treatment of hypertension.
