LendingTree buys remaining stake in settlement company

LendingTree has acquired the remaining stake in LendingTree Settlement Services from Wachovia’s GreenLink, the company said today.

LendingTree and GreenLink created LendingTree Settlement Services as a joint venture in 2004.

GreenLink supplies a range of national real estate settlement services, including appraisals, title searches, title insurance, closings and flood certifications to Wachovia’s consumer lending and servicing units.

LendingTree Settlement Services provides real estate-secured settlement services that enable lenders and real estate agents to offer consumers competitive prices on title, appraisal, flood and closing services. The company aims to simplify the process of closing loans by streamlining settlement activities and reducing last-minute closing emergencies.

“GreenLink’s expertise in operating a settlement services company was an important component in the initial momentum of the company,” said David Anderson, senior vice president and general manager of LendingTree Settlement Services. “We’re moving forward with complete confidence that this expertise has been ingrained into LendingTree Settlement Services and are excited to become wholly a member of the LendingTree family.”

Jacksonville, Fla.-based LendingTree Settlement Services is part of IAC Financial Services and Real Estate, an operating business of IAC/InterActiveCorp.
