RE/MAX expands in Baltic countries

RE/MAX International, one of the largest real estate brokerage franchise companies, has expanded its international footprint into three new countries, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania, the company announced Thursday.

The RE/MAX franchise network is a global real estate system with more than 5,800 independently owned offices and 113,000 sales associates.

The addition of franchises in these countries gives RE/MAX a presence in 61 countries across the globe.

Eythor Edvardsson, a native of Iceland is the new regional director for the three Baltic countries, which formerly were part of the Soviet Union.

“Through the years, my holiday travels to USA more often ended up in my exploring the real estate market. There I first came in contact with RE/MAX,” said Edvardsson.

Estonia, which borders the Baltic Sea and Gulf of Finland, has a population of 1.3 million.

Latvia, which borders the Baltic Sea between Estonia and Lithuania, has a population of 2.3 million.

Lithuania borders the Baltic Sea between Latvia and Russia and has a population of 3.6 million.

“Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania are very active and attractive markets that are growing fast with the help of foreign investments,” Edvardsson said.
