CarrAmerica expands in D.C. metro area

CarrAmerica Realty Corp. acquired Tysons International Plaza, a two-building, 434,606-square-foot office project in Tysons Corner, Va.

CarrAmerica paid approximately $123.1 million for 1919 and 1921 Gallows Road, in the pedestrian-friendly Tysons East area of Tysons Corner.

Completed in 1987, Tysons International Plaza is comprised of two 10-story buildings with underground garage parking at a ratio of 3.7 per 1,000 square feet.

Tenants in the building at the time of sale included Envision, Newspaper Association of America, TMA Resources and C2 Technologies.

In metropolitan Washington, D.C., CarrAmerica now owns, directly or through joint ventures, interests in 31 office buildings containing more than 6 million square feet. CarrAmerica owns, develops and operates office properties in 12 markets throughout the United States.
