Corcoran exec. once worked as a lifeguard

Since 2000, Pamela Liebman has been president and CEO of The Corcoran Group, one of New York City’s top residential real estate empires.

Liebman oversees the day-to-day operations of the company, gives direction to Corcoran’s 55 managers and 2,100 employees, and focuses the projects of a corporation that has sales of more than $8 billion annually.

Liebman is a New York City native, and studied at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, and the European Business School in London. She has lectured at New York University, Fordham University, the 92nd Street Y, and the Real Estate Board of New York and serves on numerous panels and committees. In 2002, Crain’s named Pamela as one of the New York business world’s rising stars in its annual “40 Under 40” article; in 2003, The New York Post selected her as one of the 50 Most Powerful Women in New York.

What style of home do you live in and when did you buy it?

Purchased in October 2001, it’s warm, friendly and great for entertaining (we have three bars and 10 TVs).

What worries keep you awake at night?

Whether I will have enough time to workout before my first appointment.

Describe your dream home:

I live in it because it comes with the world’s best husband and two beautiful princesses.

What lesson did you learn in the last year?

It’s just real estate, it’s not life.

What’s the strangest thing you ever packed in a suitcase?

Another suitcase.

What was your first job?

Lifeguard.

What would your second career choice be after real estate?

A sports agent.

Which daily newspaper do you read and which section do you read first?

New York Post, and I read it in order.

Where did you spend your last vacation?

Los Cabos, Mexico.

What professional accomplishment are you most proud of?

The growth of the Corcoran Group.

What is your favorite technology device or software application?

Blackberry.

What kind of music do you listen to?

R&B and hip-hop.
