Real estate veteran to give insight on changing market

Gary Kenline has been in the real estate business since 1974 when he started working as a sales associate in the Kenmore, N.Y., office of Hunt Real Estate.

He became a broker in 1976, and two years later joined the management team as manager of the firm’s Amherst office. In 1984, he was named vice president of Hunt Real Estate.

Today, Kenline is senior vice president of Hunt Real Estate ERA, and served as the 2005 president of the New York State Association of Realtors.

Kenline has been responsible for opening or expanding nine of Hunt Real Estate’s 15 western New York offices and developing the company’s two marketing programs, Seller Select and Buyers Edge.

He earned a degree in economics from Cortland College.

Kenline will speak during Real Estate Connect in New York City, Jan. 11-13, 2006.

What style of home do you live in and when did you buy it?

Brick and stucco Tudor, built in 1941. We purchased it in 1987.

What worries keep you awake at night?

Tuition — we have three kids in college!

Describe your dream home:

It sits on a lake in the Adirondack Mountains.

What was your first job?

I was a pin-chaser in a bowling ally.

Where did you spend your last vacation?

Italy — Florence and Tuscany.

What professional accomplishment are you most proud of?

Being 2005 president of the New York State Association of Realtors.

What kind of music do you listen to?

Jazz, blues and good old rock and roll.
