Corporate Office Trust gains 1.1 million square feet

Corporate Office Properties Trust, a real estate investment trust, has bought 21 properties totaling 1,107,000 square feet in Woodlawn, Md. and Hunt Valley, Md. for $124.5 million.

 

Seven of the buildings, totaling about 705,000 square feet, are in Hunt Valley, Md., and 14 office buildings totaling about 402,000 square feet are in Woodlawn, Md. The $124.5million price tag comes to $112.00 per square foot.

 

The Hunt Valley portfolio is in Northern Baltimore County. The Woodlawn portfolio is adjacent to the Social Security Administration headquarters and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.

 

The office portfolio is 84 percent leased and tenants include McCormick & Company, First Data Merchant Services, Provident Bank, Lockheed Martin, AT&T and MCI.

 

Corporate Office Properties Trust is a real estate investment trust that focuses on the ownership, management, leasing, acquisition and development of suburban office properties primarily in select Mid-Atlantic submarkets. It is one of the largest owners of suburban office properties in the Greater Washington, D.C. region.
