ZipRealty co-founder moves to Prudential California

The co-founder of ZipRealty, a real estate firm that challenged traditional ways of doing business, has taken a position with Prudential California, Nevada and Texas Realty, one of the largest brokerage companies in the nation.

Prudential CA/NV/TX Realty today announced the appointment of Kucirek as general manager, where he’ll be responsible for building up the company’s Northern California and Nevada operations. He will be based at the company’s Pleasanton, Calif., headquarters.

Kucirek also served as president and executive vice-president of new market development at ZipRealty. He has a wealth of experience in identifying and expanding new markets and in streamlining and creating more efficient real estate processes through best practices in technology.

“We are extremely pleased that Scott has decided to join us as general manager,” said Ed Krafchow, president of Prudential CA/NV/TX Realty. “As an organization that has been in business since 1887, we are about to enter one of the most exciting periods in our company’s history. Scott’s role will be integral to the design of the coming organization. He is part of a new generation of leadership at Prudential that is progressively building models to support both agents and consumers in the future.”

“We welcome Scott with great enthusiasm as we continue to sharpen our focus on leading innovation in the real estate industry,” said Sherry Chris, COO of Prudential CA/NV/TX Realty. “Scott’s extensive technology background, strong business experience and deep knowledge of real estate in our key markets will be essential as we build the bridge between the technology and relationship sides of the business.”

“Scott and I share a very similar business philosophy and approach and I am thrilled that we will have the opportunity to work together as we grow and expand the operations,” added Chris.

Kucirek served nine years in the U.S. Navy as a naval aviator in several management and planning roles. He has an MBA from the Haas School of Business, and a Bachelor of Science in bioengineering from the University of California at Berkeley.
