Oodle exec. has classified ad, eBay background

Ha Nguyen, Oodle’s director of Category Management, has an impressive background. When at eBay, she launched the online auction’s “Buy It Now” feature, and oversaw product management for several businesses including Kijiji, eBay’s international classifieds venture. She is driving the expansion of Oodle’s search index.

Nguyen holds an M.B.A. from the Harvard Business School and a B.S. in Economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

Nguyen will speak during Real Estate Connect in New York City, Jan. 11-13, 2006.

What kind of house did you grow up in and where?

Ranch house in a friendly neighborhood in Chambersburg, Pa.

What style of home do you live in and when did you buy it?

Two-story Mediterranean family home; Purchased in 2004

What worries keep you awake at night?

No worries, but my 8-month-old son still keeps me awake at night J.

Describe your dream home:

4,000-square-foot villa in Hillsborough, Calif.

What lesson did you learn in the last year?

There are so many possibilities if you dream big, set goals & plan!

What’s the strangest thing you ever packed in a suitcase?

Baby formula and diapers.

Who is your hero?

My husband.

What was your first job?

Business analyst at Andersen Consulting, strategy group.

What would your second career choice be after real estate?

Professional poker player.

Which daily newspaper do you read and which section do you read first?

New York Times, front page.

Where did you spend your last vacation?

Las Vegas, Nev.

What professional accomplishment are you most proud of?

Launched the “Buy It Now” feature on eBay, taking eBay from an auction site to a global marketplace for buying & selling anything.

What is your favorite technology devices or software application?

iPod Nano.

What kind of music do you listen to?

Currently, buying & listening to all kids/children’s CDs J.
