Newspaper group launches new real estate product

Douthit Communications, an Ohio company that owns a suburban newspaper group, today announced the release of an enhanced version of AdWriter, an automated advertising management system that is available to real estate brokers.

The company also owns and publishes the national specialty magazine group, Homes Illustrated, which publishes 13 residential real estate homes-for-sale magazines in the Midwest, Rocky Mountain and Southwest markets.

The new offering, called AdWriter AdVantage, allows brokers and agents to create a media database of property listings data that includes added property features, property photos and original ad copy along with headlines, according to the announcement.

The system also provides an automated process for brokers to schedule, produce and feed listing content to print and online media sources for marketing display, the company announced, and the product provides a means to track the advertising history and the total advertising expenditure for each of the broker’s listings, according to the announcement.

Hal Douthit, founder and chairman of Douthit Communications Inc., said in a statement, “Our objective has been consistent – to exceed the needs of those in the industry who are tasked with managing what is now a very complex, integrated business process.”

“One of the biggest frustrations the brokers have today surrounds the lack of rich listing advertising content”, said Ed Toomey, AdWriter Inc. president. “The industry is spending billions of dollars advertising listing data rather than what the consumer really wants to see – rich listing content. Our system allows the broker to enhance the basic listing data and to then generate rich listing content. Our system has the potential to … improve the broker’s overall results from their hard-earned advertising dollars.”
