ZipRealty rolls out new online real estate search tools

ZipRealty, a residential real estate brokerage that offers rebates to consumers, has introduced new features to its Web site, such as a “View Similar Homes” search feature and the option to search for a real estate agent by languages spoken, the company announced today.

“With 77 percent of prospective home buyers and sellers starting their search online, we continue to offer features that make navigating home listings easier and more efficient than ever before,” said Eric Danziger, ZipRealty’s CEO.

Among the other new features:

  • View Similar Homes: This feature gives users the option to see homes with similar criteria that were previously viewed by other home buyers. From the home details page of each listing, users can click on “Clients who viewed this home also viewed” and up to three homes will be displayed.

  • Enhanced Interactive Map Search: Users can draw a box on the online map to indicate where they would like to search, and they can also see pop-up descriptions that allow them to view home details directly on the map.

  • Search for a Real Estate Agent by Languages Spoken: Users can search for local real estate agents by the language the agent speaks. To locate an agent who speaks a language other than English, users can visit the “Find an Agent” tab on the ZipRealty site and use the “Search by Language” search box.

Last month ZipRealty announced a “Price Track” feature that displays a for-sale home’s price history, including the amount and date of each price reduction. If there are multiple price reductions, users can view each time the price was dropped. Buyers can also see the number of days each house has been on the market in most regions at the Web site.

Founded in 1999, ZipRealty operates in 15 metropolitan areas in 11 states and the District of Columbia.
