Massive mixed-use project sold in California

Cornish & Carey Commercial represented Legacy Partners in the purchase of Marina Village, a 1.1 million-square-foot mixed-use development on the Alameda, Calif., waterfront.

The value of the transaction was not disclosed.

The 200-acre site, consisting of 34 buildings and featuring office, R&D and lab space, is home to more than 100 businesses, from publishing companies to biotechnology firms. The building styles range from contemporary structures that incorporate a maritime-style, to restored historic shipway buildings. The project features statuary, fountains and lush landscaping, which serve to blend the development into the surrounding retail and residential districts.

At the time of sale, the property was 70 percent leased. Legacy plans to do extensive interior renovations to building lobbies and public areas.

Cornish & Carey Commercial/ONCOR International provides a full range of services for both property owners and companies occupying buildings throughout Northern California.
