Real estate listings site launches social networking tool

CityCribs, on online marketplace for apartment rentals and sales, has launched CribYourSpace.com, a social networking tool.

The new tool is “designed to showcase property rentals and homes for sale through online classified ads, personal e-mails, blogs, Web pages and social networks (such as MySpace, Friendster and Zorpia).”

Users who visit the new site can fill out a form with a headline and a description and can upload up to six pictures and a video tour of the featured property. A code is issued to the user, which can be copied and pasted into a profile, classified ad, e-mail message or personal Web page. Users who wish to share, rent or sell their home can insert the code into their page.

“This is an exciting tool that presents users with the ability to showcase their home easily and free,” said Gea Elika, CityCribs founder. “Social network users are highly interactive and have the techno know-how, customizing their profiles to share lifestyles and now their cribs.”

CribYourSpace users will have the ability to distribute their homemade ad to CityCribs.

“CityCribs’ advanced marketing technologies used in conjunction with the CribYourSpace networking tool increase your exposure to the local and global market,” said Elika.

CityCribs also announced the launch of a blog, CribsTown, and rolled out its services into an additional seven regions — Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, Miami, New Jersey, and San Francisco.

Founded in January 2004, CityCribs connects property seekers with real estate professionals and services. The company does not maintain a brokerage license and does not collect a commission.
