Overnight real estate rates rise again

Long-term mortgage interest rates were up again Thursday, and the benchmark 10-year Treasury bond yield climbed to 5.21 percent.

The 30-year fixed-rate average inched up to 6.33 percent, and the 15-year fixed-rate increased to 6.02 percent. The 1-year adjustable was up at 5.4 percent.

The 30-year Treasury bond yield increased to 5.24 percent.

Mortgage rate figures are according to Bankrate.com, which publishes nightly averages based on its survey of 4,000 banks in 50 states. Points on these mortgages range from zero to 3.5.

In other economic news, the Dow Jones Industrial Average lost 60.35 points, or 0.54 percent, finishing at 11,019.11. The Nasdaq fell 18.22 points, or 0.85 percent, closing at 2,122.98.
