ERA sends real estate listings to Google Base

ERA Real Estate has begun providing all of its residential property listings nationwide to Google Base, a site where people can bulk upload real estate and other kinds of listings that will show up in Google search results.

The latest news follows a growing trend of real estate brokerages and franchise operations arranging to display listings at online search services such as Google, Trulia and Oodle. Trulia recently announced partnerships with Help-U-Sell and Realty Executives International in which the companies’ listings will be indexed in Trulia’s real estate search engine.

Google Base offers real estate content providers the ability to provide property-specific attributes, which increase the chance that a particular listing will appear in relevant consumer search queries. Based on the relevance match, a listing may also appear in search results on Google, Froogle and Google Maps.

“A large majority of today’s real estate consumers are starting their home search online, but they are getting to this information in a number of different ways,” said Brenda W. Casserly, president and CEO for ERA Real Estate. “By working with the Internet search leader, Google, we have created another important online marketing venue that, in addition to our brand Web site, will generate exposure for our affiliates and their listings.”

ERA’s real estate franchise network includes more than 38,000 brokers and sales associates in nearly 3,000 offices throughout the globe.
