Overnight real estate rates dip again

Long-term mortgage interest rates continued lower Wednesday, and the benchmark 10-year Treasury bond yield edged up to 4.52 percent.

The 30-year fixed-rate average dipped to 5.66 percent, and the 15-year fixed rate sank to 5.43 percent. The 1-year adjustable held at 5.3 percent.

The 30-year Treasury bond yield increased to 4.62 percent.

Mortgage rate figures are according to Bankrate.com, which publishes nightly averages based on its survey of 4,000 banks in 50 states. Points on these mortgages range from zero to 3.5.

In other economic news, the Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 90.28 points, or 0.74 percent, finishing at 12,226.73. The Nasdaq was up 19.62 points, or 0.81 percent, closing at 2,432.23.
